WHAT IS

Climate

Arrow In Circle Line Icon

The word "climate" means nothing more than long-term weather patterns for a particular place.

Around the Earth, there is an imaginary line called the Equator.

The regions closest to this line have very hot climates. Areas nearest to either of the poles have very cold climates.

GREENHOUSE EFFECT:

IT’S GETTING HOT

The basics

Greenhouse effect means that the sun comes in and gets trapped in the earths atmosphere. This way, the greenhouse effect acts as a though glass wall. We wouldn’t survive without this wall.

Since the Industrial Revolution in the 1800s the release of greenhouse gases has increased a lot. Most of the carbon dioxide that people put into the atmosphere comes from burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas. Cars, trucks, trains, and planes all create and release gases.

Most gases in the atmosphere comes from livestock farming, landfills and fossil fuel production.

PUBLC TRANSPORT

Using public transportation helps reduce the number of vehicles on the road and lowers emissions.

bicycle

Riding a bike is a great alternative to driving a car because it only produces 33 grams of CO2 per kilometer. That’s up to 30 times less than a typical car.

electric

vehicles

Electric cars offer potential for cutting down on emissions. Although they do emit some greenhouse gases during manufacturing their overall emissions, over their lifespan are relatively low especially when contrasted with vehicles.

Renewable

Energy

Renewable energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, and hydro energy, come from natural recources which are given by the earth and release no to little CO2 in the Environment .

These sources, like sunlight and wind, are abundant and constantly new produced.

Many trees are being cut down by companies that make a lot of money selling wood, thereby ruining the rainforest. Thats why a lot of people try to help getting those trees back by planting small trees to regrow the forest.

There are many projects who support replantation such as Ecosia which plants a tree for the searches you’ll get while browsing.

reforestation and

A sustainable forest

It is important that we work against the harm caused by climate change and begin to restore resources, such as trees.

However, we must also look to the future and start protecting our forests now. This includes implementing laws that are pro-nature.
